Articles relating to social media, social collaboration and how we can communicate better.
Social tools have become the norm in many software solutions with dedicated (Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Yammer, Facebook for Work) and add-on (Chatter, SharePoint and many others) become part of the day to day working life.
Despite social collaboration being normal in personal life the switch over to an enterprise setting is extremely challenging for many companies.
Here I compare and contrast personal vs enterprise and share my experience working as a APAC Head of Social Collaboration.
Every time I walk through the cemetery I think about legacy. Leaving a legacy and doing something good for the world. Not being selfish and leaving a tombstone as the only reminder of my time on earth. Not being the person who attends a tombstone weekly to tend and mend the dead. That’s all the tending to a grave is – trying to bring someone back to life who is already gone. The world is more than that and you and I have more to offer.
But what are you doing? Umpiring hockey occasionally, helping out at cricket. Those are pretty selfish really. Those are personal. Those aren’t going to leave a deep legacy. Those aren’t helping people who need help. You’re not even helping grow the kids.
Tears. Multiple times. Sadness, happiness, other. Great acting, real, story. Got to stop crying on planes. Probably more tears than watching Twice Born. Go and see Short Term 12.
I’ve recently had a resurgence on the dating front and it’s got me researching, thinking and talking frequently about the concept of modern day dating.
And things have subtly changed.
I read that just because we have technology doesn’t mean we are allowed to be cold and heartless when it comes to dating. We should still open the car door for ladies and buy them flowers. Hold on. When in the last twenty years has it been fashionable to open the car door for a woman? The only friend I have that did that was ridiculed out of existence. I ignored most of that article.
As part of WA/foundation day/WAMI the state government are hosting the State of the Art festival. All Western Australian acts and it’s a seriously great line up for just $20. 11 hours of music. See you there!
I’m a little excited about Parklife this year. The line up seems to be a little more diverse than last year and also a lot deeper in talent. Last year had a couple of big acts but this year is going to have me rocking all day.
But as with a lot of music I have no idea who plays what song until I hear it. So to help any one else out who has the same problem, here is my Parklife mix tape of all the artists that are playing at Parklife with a few extras thrown in for the Perth locals that are playing at my event.
